The Winter Weather Benefits of 4 Wheel Drive Cars

In the United States there are surprisingly large areas where 4 wheel drive cars can be a real asset in the slippery winter weather conditions that often prevail. In the more Southern parts of the nation a little snow is a big event but for Northerners it is simply a part of daily life for a fair part of the year. The percentage of the year affected by snowfall varies from season to season but in the farther reaches along some parts of the U.S and Canadian border it's actually a good part of every year.

If you live in one of these areas perhaps there is not really a need to convince you of the benefits of having a good all wheel drive system in your car. Perhaps it may be that you are one of the hardy souls who has the skill to traverse whatever winter throws your way in a rear wheel drive sports car. For many people though, especially new transplants to colder climates having a 4 wheel drive car can be a good thing and increase their level of safety while out on the slick winter roads. Obviously having an all wheel drive vehicle does not make you invincible but it does provide an increased level of traction to help get out of tough situations and avoid trouble in the first place particularly when climbing slippery uphill roads or driveways.

Two of the most popular makers of AWD vehicles are Audi and Subaru. They both make superb late model vehicles and Audi is a real pioneer in the all wheel drive traction system space as well as recently pushing out the availability of LED lighting with their new all LED equipped A8 model. The A8 is actually a particularly good model for long winters not only because of its Quattro AWD system but also because it's aluminum intensive construction can help mitigate the development of rust that often ravages cars constantly exposed to winter road salt. Since the A8 has been in production for some time and was essentially all aluminum from the start there are some good values on used models out there if you aren't ready to put down the major cash commitment for one of the new LED equipped models.

Of course the Audi A8 isn't the only show in town nor is it any longer the only aluminum construction vehicle on the market. Other Audi models as well as many Jaguars and BMWs use extensive aluminum for weight savings and rust resistance. When it comes to all wheel drive systems you'll find a proliferation of models both foreign and domestic now feature the traction enhancing equipment in one form or another. Your challenge? Find the perfect model for your needs.

Using Food To Help In Dealing With The Body's Inflammation Response

There's a diet that's growing in popularity these days called the anti inflammatory diet. This diet advocates that the foods we eat either heighten or else diminish the body's inflammation response. Some foods lead your body to go on heightened alert, so to speak, while other foods have a calming effect. More and more people are beginning to believe in this diet. But why would food have anything to do with inflammation?

You'll first need to understand what inflammation is and what function it's intended to do ordinarily. Inflammation is a defense mechanism of the immune system that helps deal with traumas, poisons, and toxins to specific regions of the body. When a person gets stung by a bee, for example, the inflammation response goes to work to help seal off the affected region and keep the poison from spreading to other areas of the body. The area around the sting swells up and the poison is broken down and removed. This is a good and healthy reaction for that kind of issue.

Foods, on the other hand, don't usually set off the body's inflammation response. That being said though, when you consider all of the different artificial components in foods these days, you can start to understand why the body's inflammation response gets agitated. When you consume foods which your body doesn't recognize, it treats them as potentially dangerous, and thus, the inflammation response is boosted just in case the food you're eating really is dangerous for you. These artificial compounds vary from things like artificial colors, artificial sweeteners, preservatives residual pesticides to heavy metal contaminants. As you consume foods with these ingredients in them and they reach your blood, your body handles it as a potentially dangerous situation. It makes sense though because those things aren't a natural part of the human diet, and your body doesn't really understand why you are eating them. So as a result, the inflammation response can become heightened.

So what are a few foods that are considered anti inflammatory? In generalized terms, the more natural a food is, the better it is in arena of inflammation. However, there are some particular foods that have been shown to have powerful calming effects on the inflammation response and can cause it to decline. Among them are herbs and spices such as ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, red pepper, black pepper, garlic, cilantro, and St John's Wort. Adding these spices and herbs into your diet can be a very good idea for people suffering from inflammation. Most of these herbs and spices can also be purchased in supplement form as well. I know a lot of people who take turmeric supplements for its various health benefits, beyond just anti inflammation. If you are eating a lot of snacks, fast foods, and processed foods, and you're also experiencing a lot of discomfort from inflammation, you might want to think about trying to cut out a lot of those foods from your diet and going for more natural foods. Of course, consult your doctor before making any big changes and if you're thinking about taking some sort of supplement. The anti inflammatory diet really seems to help a lot of people, and just going more natural seems to have positive overall health benefits also.

Foods that reduce inflammation can be a wonderful ally in your fight against inflammation. So can mangosteen juice for arthritis.

Learning About Your Body - Why We Have an Appendix

The 'Useless' Appendix and Its Amazing Role

In a general sense, those parts of the immune system and the lymphatic system that are located in the intestinal tract help to detoxify anything harmful that may come along with the food you eat. Through highly sophisticated processes, these systems are able to separate useful nutrients from unusable waste matter. Some potentially harmful waste products or natural food toxins such as plant-antibodies enter the lymphatic ducts for detoxification and elimination. Most of the nutrient elements are passed through the walls of the small intestine into the bloodstream, which carries them to the liver for further processing, distribution and cell metabolism. Other more specific nutrients, though, can only be absorbed through the walls of the large intestine. These nutrients are meant for nourishing and maintaining the nervous system. Any nutrients, minerals, water and waste products that are not removed by the small intestines now enter the ascending colon, just above the appendix.

In traditional Indian and Chinese medicine, the appendix is known to play a vitally important role. It breeds large quantities of friendly, probiotic bacteria and supplies them to the colon and other parts of the gut in order to neutralize any harmful substances. The strategic location of the appendix allows these useful microorganisms to blend with the fluid fecal matter as it begins its passage through the large intestine. More than 400 strands of beneficial bacteria live in the human gastrointestinal tract. By attaching themselves to the lining of the gut, they can elbow out potentially troublesome bacteria, such as Candida Albicans. Balanced populations of the friendly, probiotic bacteria in the gut effectively prevent vaginal and urinary tract infections. They also discourage tumors, particularly cancerous growths in the colon, either by emitting protective chemicals or by inhibiting the production of compounds that nurture cancers. A diminished population of probiotic bacteria, as caused for example by antibiotics, alcohol or junk foods exposes the gastrointestinal lining numerous toxins. This leads to an overstimulated immune system and, thereby, causes asthma, allergies and eczema.

Until very recently, doctors believed that the appendix has no real use or function. In 2005, 321,000 Americans were hospitalized with appendicitis. Removal of the appendix is one of the most commonly performed surgeries. Now, researchers comprised of surgeons and immunologists at Duke University Medical School say the appendix is there to protect the gut, which is not a small job by any means. This worm-shaped organ outgrowth acts like a bacteria factory, cultivating good germs, according to their study, published in the Journal of Theoretical Biology, October 2007.

Apparently, according to the 'new' discovery (which Ayurveda has known for 6,000 years), the function of the appendix seems related to the massive amount of bacteria populating the human digestive system. Most of the trillions of bacteria in the human body are beneficial and help digest food. But sometimes the flora of bacteria in the intestines die or are purged or are overtaken by destructive bacteria. Given the high number of congested colons and inflamed appendixes, this is a common phenomenon today. The appendix "acts as a good safe house for bacteria," said Duke surgery professor Bill Parker, a study co-author. Also, the worm-shaped organ outgrowth acts like a bacteria factory, cultivating the good germs, Parker said. The appendix's job is to reboot the digestive system.

For all practical purposes, and supported by the cleansing action of the bile from the liver, the appendix's job is to keep the colon neat and clean. If large quantities of undigested and decomposed foods reach this part of the intestines, congestion occurs. The intestinal congestion is followed by microbial infestation (through destructive bacteria), which can lead to thickening of the protective mucus membrane and ulceration of the intestinal wall. If microbial growth increases further, the appendix may become inflamed and even burst, undermining proper performance of the colon in the future. Removing the appendix can have long-term consequences for colon health and, as explained below, the health of the entire body. In most cases of an inflamed appendix, fasting for a few days and cleaning out the colon (colema, colosan, or colonic irrigation) can save it.

As opposed to the more continuous peristalsis of the small intestines, fecal contents are propelled into the large intestine (now commonly referred to as the 'colon') by periodic mass movements. These mass movements occur one to three times per day in this final section of the gastrointestinal tract. Once they have reached the rectum, the fecal matter stretches the nerve endings in the rectal walls and causes a reflex urge for a bowel movement.

The large intestine no longer breaks down food in this stage of digestion. It simply absorbs vitamins that are created by the bacteria inhabiting the colon. The large intestine is essential for absorbing water and compacting the feces.

The whole digestive and eliminative process - from the ingestion of food to the bowel movement - should ideally take approximately 20-24 hours, depending on the types of food eaten and also on the time of day when the food was consumed. However, in the majority of the population, the passage of food through the large intestine alone takes 25 hours or more. This condition is called constipation. I have had numerous patients who reported having a bowel movement only once every 2-5 days. In extreme cases, there was only 1 movement per week or 10 days. On the other hand, many people have bowel movements 3-4 times per day, and in some extreme cases, there may be up to 16 loose evacuations; these individuals cannot keep food in the body longer than 3 to 12 hours. Since most of the ingested food is not digested properly, it decomposes through the help of destructive bacteria. This is so irritating to the intestinal wall, that the body discharges it as fast and as often as possible. Consequently, waste eliminations are far too excessive and frequent.

Having regular bowel movements once or twice a day by itself does not necessarily indicate good digestion either. It's the quality of the eliminated waste that counts, and the seemingly unimportant appendix makes certain the waste is non-toxic and does not contaminate and harm the intestine.

Celebrity Fitness for the Rest of Us

Many people have an empty jealousy of Hollywood celebrities: they claim that if they were born with the same genetics, and were luckily enough to run into the right producer at a party, they would have the same fame. Like with many endeavors, these people are overestimating how much luck the successful have and underestimating how much work goes into becoming and staying that successful. Celebrity fitness is an ongoing challenge for those who are famous and being constantly judged on their looks, and there are good lessons to be learned for those of us who are not Hollywood icons.

For one, many actors have had to do extreme workouts to get in proper shape for their movie roles. There have been cases where an actor has had to get thin to the point of being unhealthy for one role, then needed to put on pounds of muscle for another role shortly afterward.

These results are way beyond what most people need to achieve to reach their goals, and the process of earning them is no simple matter no matter how genetically blessed these actors are. Each of their workouts required serious commitment, which non-celebrities also need to put in for best results.

Celebrity fitness is made easier by several advantages that most of us do not have. These include dedicated personal trainers and nutritionists, who ensure that the actor works out efficiently and also replenishes the body with the right mix of protein and other nutrients between sessions to get the most benefit out of training. Those without access to these experts need to master the knowledge themselves, which is fortunately easier than many people suspect.

The first step is choosing an effective workout program. There are a number of good choices out there that emulate the challenge of celebrity training without needing quite as much time investment. One quality option is CrossFit, which gives a daily rotation through a number of different exercises to thoroughly train different muscle groups. Another is P90X, which has a set cycle of exercises that you repeat while favoring various muscle groups and training conditions.

There are plenty of other choices, and the important point is to pick one type of training program and follow through. The biggest mistake of most people aiming to get fit is haphazardly jumping from method to method without putting in the time to see real results. Meanwhile, typical celebrity workouts are focused on having the actor follow the same ideology consistently until they are in the shape that they need for a role.

The other key aspect of effective physical training is managing nutrition. While odds are that you do not have access to a personal chef, you can find a good diet to follow for building strength and getting lean. One popular choice for fitness elites is the Paleo diet, which focused entirely on the types of food available when our metabolisms evolved in our primitive days: lean meats, organic fruits and vegetables, no processed foods and grains, etc.

As with choosing a fitness program, there are a number of options that will work. The zone diet has worked well for many, as well as following simpler systems of eating a certain amount of protein each day and a controlled limit of fat and carbs. Your challenge is to research these choices and pick one that you can maintain over time.

While the rich and famous have advantages in this area, celebrity fitness is something that can be matched by anyone with the drive to research and choose good systems, then stick to them through the pain periods. Focus on the basics of exercise and nutrition, then follow through until you reach your goals.

Cody Everette has been a fitness enthusiast for years, and has tried out a number of workout programs as well as diets. His current favorite is CrossFit, though he keeps an open mind for new ideas and concepts to work with.

Exhaust - It's More Than Smoke and Loud Tail Pipes

Most people climb into their car each morning, start it up and drive away. As long as the vehicle starts and sounds alright, we don't consider the small details about the different systems that make up the entire car. However, the moment something begins to sound funny or act funny we become more interested in those minor details and parts.

The one system that makes the most noise when it malfunctions is the exhaust system. When this system develops a hole or other problem with it, the noise can't be ignored. However, it can also be a more subtle issue. A damaged exhaust system will interfere with the car's performance by failing to get rid of the harmful elements from the engine. Exhaust that can't get away can release carcinogens into the atmosphere and even post a health threat if not found soon enough.

Vehicle exhaust systems carry away the gases that are created when the fuel and air are burned in the combustion chamber. These gases are harmful to humans and our environment thus the laws regarding emissions in highly populated areas. In larger cities all the traffic means a higher concentration of these harmful gases are released into the air every single day. It is in the best interest of everyone living and working in these areas to have every vehicle be performing at peak levels without having a high emission rating. That might be why in many larger cities we don't see very many really old worn out vehicles, they can't pass an emissions test.

The exhaust system is made up of many different parts and each one has a specific job to do but they also have different ways they can go bad. The worst problem for the entire system though is corrosion or rust. Rust is caused by moisture reacting with the iron in the steel forming iron oxide. Moisture is present in the exhaust as a by-product of combustion and the catalytic converter. It can also come from the outside elements and conditions of rain and snow. If you notice a car idling during the winter usually you will see little drips of moisture dripping off the end of the exhaust pipe. Over time, rust can eat a hole in the exhaust system causing it to be much less efficient and much noisier too. This is because rust weakens the spot welds that hold the heat shields to the exhaust system. When the weld fails, the shield comes loose just enough to vibrate and produce a rattle or buzz that reverberates throughout the entire vehicle. The noise may only be heard at certain engine rpms or when slowing down. If you live in an area which uses salt on the roadways during the winter time, it is vitally important to wash the underside of the car with water every few weeks to rinse off the salt. Salt speeds up the corrosion process. It is also important to run the engine after washing to dry all the water off the outside of the pipes.

Rust isn't the only problem that can bring about serious issues with your exhaust system. If a vehicle has been getting poor fuel economy or has a loss of power, the exhaust system might have an internal restriction or blockage. These restrictions can be caused by damaged or crushed pipes, or collapsed baffles inside a muffler. However, the most common cause often turns out to be a plugged catalytic converter. The catalytic converter converts harmful carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons to water vapor and carbon dioxide and is mounted between the exhaust manifold and the muffler. If you take the converter off and look into it with a bright light, you should be able to see all the way through it, if you can't then it is plugged and needs replacing.

The muffler does just what its name indicates; it muffles the exhaust noise down to acceptable levels. Most of the time mufflers rust through and need to be replaced. They also can become loosely attached; you know the sound of the muffler bouncing off the curb you just drove over. Then there is the sound of leaving the muffler behind entirely, the engine noise gets so loud you can't hear yourself think. Muffler's come in a variety of costs, some legitimate parts and some aftermarket. Very definitely with the mufflers, buying the cheapest one out there also buys the least amount of time between muffler repairs and problems. If you do have to replace the muffler, be sure you check the pipes around it and make sure they are in good condition. Pipes can appear to be fine on the outside and be rusting away on the inside so be sure to check both out and inside of pipes.

All modern fuel injected vehicles use an oxygen sensor to measure how much oxygen is present in the exhaust. From this the computer can add or subtract fuel to obtain the correct mixture for maximum fuel economy. This little sensor can also be the cause of a persistent check engine light. While it is small it can cause a few problems with the overall performance of the vehicle.

The main component of the entire exhaust system that links all the parts together is the exhaust pipe. This pipe carries the gas through its journey out your tail pipe. Exhaust tubing is usually made of steel but can also be stainless steel that actually lasts longer because it resists corrosion. It can even be aluminized steel which has a little better corrosion resistance than regular steel but not quite as good as the stainless steel has, but it is cheaper than stainless. These pipes should be tested by using a large pair of expandable pliers. The pliers will tell if the pipes are rotten or solid. If the pipe gives in when pressure is applied, it obviously needs replaced. Poking at rusted areas on the different areas of the entire system will also tell you if the corrosion is on the surface or if it goes all the way through the metal.

From the engine to the tail pipe there are lots of important areas that should be looked at once in a while. We sort of take our vehicles for granted and just make sure to add gasoline when necessary and occasionally make sure the oil level is ok. Other than that it's just a bunch of details. But details are important too. Especially details that either improve or lower gas mileage and even details that make the air we breathe dangerous. We need to be aware that the exhaust system is one such detail; it needs some attention once in a while. It is possible to give it a quick look see ourselves, but for a more thorough inspection we can take it to the local auto repair center and have them look it over. It is easier for the professionals to look under there because they can lift the car off the ground. All the "do-it-yourself" people have to crawl under the car and see what they can see. As vehicles age things begin to take on a less than shiny appearance. It is important to know which things need attention and which things might be best off replaced.

It is also very important to note that even a small exhaust leak that causes exhaust gases to get inside the vehicle can affect a driver's judgment and perception. As little as 0.08 percent carbon monoxide (that's only 800 parts per million) can cause dizziness, headaches, nausea, and bring on stupor in two hours. A one percent concentration level of carbon monoxide can kill a person in less than three minutes. Carbon monoxide isn't only found in your basement, it is part of your vehicles exhaust. Frequent check of your exhaust system is a must to ensure you and your family's safety.

All in that entire vehicle on four wheels can get you where you are going, but it needs maintenance too. Regular maintenance can help prevent major problems down the road. To help guarantee that your vehicle starts every morning and every evening and gets you safely to each destination, take a few moments to make sure it is in good condition from the engine to the tail pipe. It's all in the details.

Benefits of Having a Mobile Personal Trainer

There are many benefits to having a personal mobile trainer who will come to you to train you rather than you having to go to the gym. You can have the trainer come to your home or meet them at a park if you want to get out and enjoy the fresh air. When you are busy rushing to and from work, you really don't need another appointment to travel to the gym.

Mobile personal training may seem rather more costly than you would like, but remember that you don't have to pay gym fees. Often you join a gym only to find that you then also have to hire a trainer to teach you how to use the equipment. Then if you get sick and miss a few weeks you don't get any money back on the cost of your subscription. Add to that the cost of fuel to get to the gym and possibly even the cost of parking and you will realise that a gym membership is really costly. In fact, you may even have to pay a babysitter to look after the children while you are at the gym.

But when you have a personal mobile trainer you don't have such worries. You can oversee the children while still doing all those exercises that the trainer has prepared for you. Better still, you can have peace of mind that those exercises are the ones that will help you to reach your fitness goals more quickly. If you have to exercise on your own at the gym, how do you know you are doing the right kind of exercises? Not all exercises work on all areas of the body.

Having a trainer come to you saves you a great deal of time. Not having to travel to the gym could easily save you several hours a week and that is time that can be spent in actually doing the exercises. So if you are already really busy and don't know how you could fit in visiting a gym, think of the time you will save by having a mobile trainer.

Another pertinent point is that often those gyms are full of people and that means there are many different body odours as people start to sweat as they exercise. This often makes the atmosphere a little unpleasant. Moreover, people cannot help their sweat dripping onto the machines that you are waiting to use. It is not a bit pleasant to have to use a machine that is damp from someone else's perspiration.

And finally, if you are really out of shape it is sometimes quite embarrassing to appear in front of others and know they are watching you as you struggle to do those exercises. You feel totally embarrassed as you see them smile when your flab bobs up and down. With a personal trainer there is no chance of this happening. The personal trainer is used to working with plump people and takes pride in helping them gain the body shape of their dreams.

Dex has worked in the health and fitness industry now for over 20 years and has some great first hand advice on personal training, personal trainer activities, mobile personal training and outdoor fitness.

The Best Secrets Of Healthy Living

The secrets of leading a healthy life are not undisclosed. Everyone knows them; they have heard of them, they know them but they don't follow them until it becomes absolutely necessary to. Basically, it comes down to the two important things - physical health and mental fitness. Only when body and soul are in harmony with each other and nature, you will live a life free of illnesses and fatigues.

Not Too Much And Not Too Less

Too much of everything is disastrous to the body. Doctors advise people to keep a balanced diet - involve fruits and vegetables and dissuade from the bad habit of eating junk food because that is what it is - junk. The worst thing you can do is block your arteries with cholesterol and make it difficult for your heart to pump blood. So, the first secret to the healthy body is eating right, in right amounts and at the right time. Instead of heavy meals three times a day, one can always take 6 small meals in a day. Simple.

Exercise Your Way Out

Come to think of it, exercise not only keeps you fit; obviously it maintains your weight and keeps it in check but it is also a way to let out your pent up frustration. Argument with your boss? Go for a run! It will help you de-stress yourself and also keep you healthy. People have been preaching that exercises are good for health; they have tremendous benefits and they can prolong your life. All of it is true. But what people lack is motivation to actually put on their running shoes and go to the gym. Once you find that drive inside you, you will make sure your body is healthy and your mind is free of all the negative thoughts.

Smile, Please

There is nothing better for the heart and mind than a good ounce of laughter. Happiness is what you feel inside - no one can teach you how to be happy. But it is also a primary factor in governing your mental health. Let's face it, there are a lot of worries in the world, and then there is stress, exhaustion, depression and a lot more bad things. Keeping your spirits up despite all the troubles in the world is the real success. Once you start being happy, you will start staying healthy. In any case, cutting off from the world, not socializing and working every minute of the day is unhealthy. Ask anyone!

Limo Service Problems You Can Easily Avoid - Tips to Enjoy a Hassle-Free Ride

Limo service problems are all too common as many people will testify. Most people have horror stories of missing flights or important appointments because the limo they ordered simply did not turn up on time. Further, quite a few people can recount tales of being driven round and round in circles because the driver did not know the route or that the driver was impolite to them. A bad car rental service can ruin a trip entirely and give a lot of stress to the people who hired the vehicle.

You have to choose your limo service with a lot of care so that you do not experience these problems. At the very outset, you have to be very clear that you will only deal with a company that is well known in the business. A professionally run company will give you no reason to complain. There might be occasions when you encounter new limo hire companies that offer excellent rates. Be sure to verify that these companies use well maintained cars and that the drivers they hire are experienced. More importantly, the drivers have to be familiar with local roads so that there is no chance of their going astray. It is also a good idea to check whether the company only offers insured cars and that the drivers have their licenses in order.

While it is important to find the right limo company, there are quite a few problems that could be caused by you as well, especially if you do not plan your trip well. Make sure that you communicate your itinerary very clearly to the company so that there is no question of a misunderstanding occurring. You should also find out about the fees that will be charged so that the limo ride fits in your budget perfectly. Some companies have the policy of levying surcharges and you might only realize this after you are presented with the invoice. Read the fine print so that nothing escapes your attention. It is also a good idea to tell the limo company exactly how many people will be going for the ride. This will help them suggest a suitable vehicle.

As you can see, there are quite a few things you have to communicate to the company that offers you limo service. Make sure that you put everything in writing so that your communication is precise. You will never have problems with a rented limo if you follow these tips.

You can easily avoid problems with your New York limo service if you take a few necessary precautions and also if you plan your itinerary well. Find out how you can get the best service out of the NYC limo company you deal with.

This Is The Time To Acquire A Fuel-Efficient Vehicle

There exists a sense of aggravation when one drives because of the rising gas prices. Quite a few consumers are very upset at the idea that a gallon of gasoline is hitting $4.00 a gallon. According to the sort of car you drive, and how many miles you travel each day, your fuel costs each month could hurt your wallet. These spikes in gas rates have made people feel incapable of taking some kind of action to resolve the issue.

Finding a fuel-efficient car may be the obvious option but not everyone can afford to get a new car. Nowadays, most people, however, are trading their present car in or are buying another, far more fuel-efficient vehicle. The amount of money you will save each month on gasoline will offset the initial high cost of buying a new car. Many people who are not in a position to purchase a brand new car will almost certainly settle for a used one.

With some clever math, you can figure out what your budget will be and whether or not it would be worth it to get a new car. Knowing precisely how much you pay for gasoline now and compare it to the car you might get, you can see if it will be cost effective or not. If the long-run price for a fuel-efficient car is not all that different if you stayed with your current car, then it is not worth buying. Other factors to consider entail your current driving environment and how often you drive. Too often people purchase what they want as opposed to what they need, and therefore spend more money than they should on something that is not fuel-efficient.

But don't limit yourself to getting a new car, you find that you simply need a motorbike, scooter or moped. If you are single, and also have short commutes around town, getting a scooter is most likely a good idea. If you need to go on freeways, then a motorcycle could be a choice as well. While it is vital that you save money on fuel, it's also wise to factor in the cost to maintain safety and licensing. Your own safety is a great deal more important than saving cash.

If you are worried about the hazards of riding a motorbike, then do not think about buying one. Simply because your automobile is not the most fuel-efficient does not mean that it is a bad car for you. You can easily find cars that don't use much fuel, or cars that happen to be bio-diesel or cars that are hybrids. They are great options if you drive other people around plus it is quite a bit safer than a motorcycle.

Alex N. Dawson is an auto mechanic specializing in car transmission troubleshooting, repair and replacement. The car transmission is one of the most vital parts in a car and it's necessary to maintain it well at all times. Pay attention to its regular maintenance, doing so can save a significant amount of money for the expensive transmission repair cost. In his website, a topic on transmission rebuild kits is available. This gives an idea on what are these kits and how reliable are they. Should you need information about it, visit the website for more.

What Are The Types of Digestive Enzymes?

Knowing the different types of digestive enzymes proves to be an essential factor when looking for a supplement that would aid your digestive health. No doubt, you must have already figured out by now that enzymes for digestion are necessary in the maintenance of good health, and that a number of health conditions can in fact be attributed to enzyme deficiencies, but what exactly are the types of digestive enzymes does your body needs?

Digestive enzymes may be classified according to their function. Enzymes that break proteins down into amino acids are called protease enzymes. Enzymes that absorb carbohydrates are amylase enzymes, while enzymes that metabolize fat to become fatty acids are called lipase enzymes.

There are enzymes, too, to break down fiber (cellulase), milk or dairy products (lactase), and sugar (sucrase). Now all these enzymes would need to be in their recommended amounts if your diet typically includes all these food groups.

Digestive enzymes are normally produced by the pancreas, but as much as possible you would not want to tire your pancreas if you want to expect it to continuously and consistently produce the enzymes your body requires. Preserving your digestive enzymes is very important so your pancreas does not need to work too hard to produce more enzymes for digestion.

Following are some tips on how you can preserve your digestive enzymes, restore them, or prevent their depletion:

* Chew. Chew your foods slowly, carefully, and thoroughly. Chewing slowly breaks the food into very small pieces until they are almost liquefied so they will not anymore stress or harm your digestive system. Lunch breaks are supposed to be one hour long, so take full advantage of the time. The need to make time to eat has to be emphasized. It's going to save you lots of trouble and improve the quality of your life in the long run. Notice that when you eat so fast you feel bloated, dizzy, and almost lifeless? Don't you feel like falling asleep thereafter? It's because your body is using so much more energy than necessary to digest the foods you have just consumed. Chewing actually helps your digestive system a lot.

* Get more good bacteria in your system. That's right, not all bacteria are bad. There are good bacteria, too, and these are needed by your digestive system as they improve intestinal health. Sad to say, these tend to get lost or deplete when you suffer from diarrhea. To replenish your supply of the good bacteria, have a probiotic drink everyday. Probiotic beverages contain millions of live enzymes.

* Take something green everyday. Raw vegetables have plenty of live enzymes, so make sure to include these in your diet. Choose especially those vegetables that are high in fiber and antioxidants.

* Avoid eating foods with preservatives. The toxins in these foods remain undigested, and so over a period of time these can affect many of your vital organs.

Along with these, taking a supplement containing various types of digestive enzymes may also be recommended.

I would like to share with you the best digestive enzyme supplement I found which is from New Zealand. Click here: http://bestdigestiveenzymesupplement.com/ to read more about it and how it can help you.

Liposuction For Men

Liposuction refers to a medical procedure that involves the removal of excess fat deposits and hence even body fat redistribution. This surgery removes "ugly" deposits of fat that are concentrated in the dermal deep layers. This procedure is performed on both males and females but the trends on the number of males going for it is on the rise as compared to a few years ago. Many men are now getting aware of their body physiques and the many options that are available for them to look and feel young, vibrant and attractive. Traditionally, liposuction was only a female thing, but now the society is getting accustomed to more males than females going for the procedure. What liposuction basically does is to remove the fat cells which are the storage sites for fat.

There are two known reasons why males go for liposuction. It could either be for cosmetic purposes or medical reasons as in gynecomastia. The main cosmetic goal a male would like to achieve from liposuction is perfect body sculpting. The liposuction is done on the areas that are known to be notorious for fat deposition. These include the loins, the abdomen and the arms. The fat removal doesn't replace weight lose therefore obese men should not have very high expectations after the surgery. The rising trend of males going for liposuction is due to the expectations that the business world and the society has imposed on them. The world of business dictates that young and handsome men get better jobs and handsome salaries. They enjoy the benefits of staying young. Because of this, many men involved in the world of business, artistes and celebrities are running for liposuction. True to their word, liposuction actually gets rid of the ugly tires that men have and gives them a carve body.

Liposuction is a simple procedure that only involves the use anesthesia either general or local and using a cannula to make the incisions while a suction vacuum removes the fat. It is carried out in the surgeons clinic and takes roughly one hours thus, doesn't necessitate in-patient ward admission unless otherwise. The males must understand the safety measures of the procedure and can help do this is; giving a detailed history of any known chronic diseases, drug reactions and any medications they are on. The surgeon does the patients physical examination to determine the amount of fat to remove. Too much fat remove can be very dangerous and will leave loose hanging dented skin that is very ugly. The incisions made on the neck area are usually smaller and fewer, whereas the ones made on the loin and abdomen are more and they crisscross. The formation of skin adhesions helps to tighten the skin above thus making the skin taut and young-looking.

The many surgeons that offer male liposuction services always price it higher than female liposuction. This is because, in the deep dermis layer where the fat cells are concentrated, there are septae. In men, these septae are very fibrous making the fat hard, which means more time required to remove it. The large surface area of male body parts also means that they will be charged higher. But with all the cautions taken, it's a procedure well worth taking.

Excessive Sweating - Different Treatment Options Available

Excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis, is a medical condition in which certain areas of the body sweats beyond the normal physiological needs. The most commonly encountered representation of this problem is increased sweating of the hands or feet though other areas could also be affected. The person sweats without any identifiable reason like anxiety or physical activity through the course of the day; most often, this condition is not present at night times. Apart from the hands and feet, patients are also known to sweat excessively at the armpits and in some cases facial sweating or blushing also occurs.

There are many treatment modalities that offer temporary as well as permanent cure for the sweating sickness. Some doctors prescribe oral medications to combat excessive sweating and these include Ditropan, Probanthine and Robinul, all of which have an anti-cholinergic effect which can block the nervous transmission in the sympathetic chain. These drugs provide only temporary relief and the success rate has been known to be very limited. Antiperspirants are also a temporary way by which you can control the excess sweating. Apart from those available in supermarkets and department stores, there are also medicated antiperspirants like Maxim and SweatBlock which can be bought in medical stores or through online shopping sites. Again these are an effective way for preventing sweating temporarily but do not offer a lasting cure.

Botox injections are also a recommended treatment method for sweating sickness especially that of the armpits. This injection is basically the inactivated botulinum toxin which when administered intradermally can offer relief up to six months. But this therapy did not yield much success for plantar or palmar hyperhidrosis. Another treatment option available is Iontophoresis in which the patient has to immerse his hands and feet in a machine which produces electric currents that can disrupt the activity of the sweat glands. But like all other methods, this too gives only a temporary cure and has to be done many times to achieve success.

The only permanent cure known to address excessive sweating is the sympathectomy surgery especially ETS or endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy. This is advised as the last resort as it is a difficult surgery to perform; a lot of refinements have been carried out in this method to make it easier for the person and also to avoid unnecessary trauma. Basically what happens is that the sympathetic chain segment responsible for this condition residing within the chest cavity is eliminated offering complete and permanent cure to the patient. But this surgery has to be performed only by well experienced surgeons as it is a complicated one.

Excessive sweating is also known as hyperhidrosis medically. Though there are many treatment options available for curing sweating sickness, only ETS or endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy is known for the best service

Knowing The Proper Steps To Save Someone's Life

One of the traits of saving someone's life has nothing to do with being special or incredible because many very ordinary people have added this accomplishment to their life list. As amazing and incredible as this might sound and seem, most anyone can save someone's life if they will set aside a few hours of their time for good use.

The American Red Cross offers classes that can provide an individual with the information they need to help save someone's life. You don't have to be a genius and many people in law enforcement, medical professionals, and teachers and day care workers have taken this course and found out exactly what to do in case of a serious emergency. CPR and other rescue techniques, basic first aid information about the treatment of wounds, cuts, and burns as well as information regarding emergency procedures. When it comes to information this type of class offers an extensive education of the how-to's in a very condensed version that is easy for even a simple, layperson to understand.

The classes can be found at several locations throughout the United States and is very affordable because the cost is very nominal. There are even group rates if the classes can be organized in a way that can include more than one group at a time, making it very cost-effective.

A Red Cross class can offer you quite a bit of life saving information which includes but is not limited to learning the Heimlich Maneuver, CPR and other rescue techniques, basic first aid information about the treatment of wounds, cuts, and burns as well as information regarding emergency procedures. When it comes to information this type of class offers an extensive education of the how-to's in a very condensed version that is easy for even a simple, layperson to understand.

You may think that you know what to do in case of an emergency and even if that is the case taking an approved class can allow you to feel more secure and can help to refresh your memory about first aid and life saving techniques. It is best to review and expand upon your knowledge each year to help stay a breast of the latest techniques and by keeping up with your CPR certification every few years you are also protected in case there is a problem when you perform CPR on someone. This honestly doesn't happen very often but it can occur and when and if it does your valid CPR and first aid card will help to cover you from any personal liability.

Having some emergency training and quality Health care insurance is the best defense against any hard surprises. To find Florida health insurance start shopping around on the net.

Don't Forget to Shave Your Armpits! - Armpit Shaving Tips

The armpit is one of the most annoying areas to shave. It can be quite a painful, tedious task which ends up creating various skin irritations, but it can also be a quick, painless and smooth shaving experience if done correctly.

Armpit Shaving Tips:

If you're shaving your armpits for the first time, or it's simply quite thick, you should first trim it, using either clippers or a pair of scissors. I can't begin to tell you how much this tip helped me avoid wasting time and getting skin rashes.Use a new razor, or at least one that hasn't been used too many times. The armpit is the last area on your body you want to take chances with using a dull blade.Begin by taking a warm shower while giving extra focus on softening your armpit hairs using a body wash. These steps will open up our pores, as well as clean the hairs.Do not step out of the shower, the trick here is to take advantage of the warm, humid environment your shower has created.Lather up your armpits by applying some shaving cream, gel or foam. Some people use shampoo as an alternative, but from personal experience I wouldn't recommend it, especially if you're inexperienced in shaving that area.Extend your arm fully and place it above your head, this will pull your skin taut which will enable you to achieve a closer shave.Arm pit hairs are unique in that they grow out to all directions, in order to properly shave your armpits, you should follow that way. Shave up and down, side to side while using controlled strokes.Remember to rinse the razor in water after every couple of strokes to keep it clean from hairs and shaving cream.Rinse your underarms with cold water after you're done shaving, but do not dry the area using a towel, this is one of the key reasons people end up getting skin irritations. Now it's time to repeat the process on your other arm.Consider using a moisturizer or baby powder to finish your shave. I recommend using the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Body Moisturizer Lotion.

Remember:

- Hold off using deodorant after shaving, this is unhealthy and will irritate your skin.

- Shaving your armpits takes some practice, so be patient and don't lose your spirit.

I hope these armpit shaving tips will help you achieve a painless smooth shaving experience.

Good luck!

Say This To Get More New Patients

This simple little task (that you should be doing every day) can get you more new patients... on a regular basis. The beauty of it is... it costs almost nothing to implement.

It starts with saying THANK YOU! And there are many different ways you can say thank you to your new patients. I like to start the process by thanking new patients before they ever make a commitment to the practice... or even paying a dime.

Once you've welcomed your new patient to your office, you say thank you in the form of a Welcome Letter. It's a simple letter that thanks them for taking the time come in to your office and you will be surprised how effective it is.

It also thanks them for trusting you with their health. I'm sure you already know that even though most patients don't do all the stuff they should to take care of their health... they do take choosing a healthcare provider seriously. They ask their friends... they consult the internet and other social media outlets... they take their time in choosing.

So simply be completely transparent with them. Tell them that you understand that they have a choice. Tell them you know that there are 27 other doctors in a 30 mile radius of your office. Tell them that you are grateful that they chose you over those other providers.

When you do... you are starting the relationship needed to:

1. Get them to say yes to your recommendations
2. You are actually giving them a second opinion by acknowledging the other doctors in your area (that's another lesson all together)
3. Make it easy for them to return to you in the future
4. Make it easy for them to refer their friends and family to you

Take the time to draft up a half - full page welcome letter for your new patients. They will appreciate it. Very few people actually take the time to thank anyone. People are starving for attention... just give them a little. You know your competition won't be (unless they are reading this as well.)

Remember... this is just one small task that you are adding to your arsenal of marketing strategies. When you have "multiple poles" in the water you catch more fish. The more small internal marketing strategies you have... the fewer external marketing strategies you have to rely on to build your practice.

Small Changes Towards a Healthier You

The first way that I can tell if I've gained a few pounds is when I notice my pants are fitting a little tighter around the waist. If this happens once I may be able to blame the dryer for shrinking the pants - if it happens with a few pairs of pants the only person I can blame is myself!

To make sure the weight doesn't spiral downhill I need to change 2 things - my eating habits and my exercising habits. I believe in taking small steps to change those habits. If someone told me I had to walk 30 minutes every day I wouldn't be too excited about that. However, if someone asked me if I could walk 10 minutes 3 days a week I would say yes. That's a perfect example of how to start small. What other ways can you think of where you can start to make small changes?

Let's apply the starting small principal to eating habits. We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day. However, I may not have time to eat it every day. What are some small ways to start eating breakfast?
• Grab a variety of fruits like apples, oranges, and bananas that you can grab as you are headed out the door
• Bring cereal and milk to work - eat at your desk
• Mix up an Eiro Lean shake filled with protein, vitamins, and fiber
• Wake up 10 minutes early to allow time for toast

One way to help you to make those small changes is to set a goal. A goal should be SMART.
S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Achievable
R - Realistic
T - Timetable

Let's look at the goal of eating breakfast and apply the SMART principle. If the goal is specific you want to write as much detail into the goal as you can. A specific goal will say, "I want to bring one piece of fruit to work for 3 out of the 5 work days. I will help reach my goal by going to the grocery store on Sunday and buying 3 pieces of fruit." To make the goal specific I said exactly how I would reach my goal, and I set a number of days that I would work on my goal. By stating the number of days I make my goal Measurable. I know that I have to bring fruit with me on 3 out of the 5 work days. I also said that I would bring fruit 3 out of the days because it was something I could Achieve. I know that if I said I would do it all 5 of the work days I might not be able to reach my goal. Yes, saying that I'd do it all 5 days sounds like a great plan...but I know it's something that might not be Realistic.

To finish off the goal let's add a Timetable to it - "I want to bring one piece of fruit to work for 3 out of the 5 days. I will help reach my goal by going to the grocery store on Sunday and buying 3 pieces of fruit. I will work on my goal for one month." My adding a time that I will reach my goal, I know I have one month to work on it.

These small changes will start to become habit and help you to move towards being a healthier you.

How to Maximize and Achieve Your Massive Goals!

Do you have Spring Fever? I do because here in NYC it seems like it has been one long winter, but I have faith that Spring is coming! It is! And with that comes the shedding of our giant layers that may have been masking "what lies beneath"! Personally, I know I have reached my fitness goals when the thought of going on a beach vacation does NOT throw me into a tailspin, and I know that I am ready to board the plane on a moments notice and feel confident in my bikini:) Now that's just one way that I measure my fitness and wellness goals. How do you measure your goals?

As a lifestyle coach and a trainer, I am hired to motivate and challenge and to help my clients reach their goals faster and have more FUN while achieving them. However, sometimes I am faced with a client that says, "Tracy, I really want to change my life! I want a complete lifestyle change! I want to feel better, have more fun, and start to love my body and my life as a whole".

My question is: HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT IT?

Really, breathe that in. How much do you want this goal? If you really really really (insert Zoolander voice here) want to achieve a goal, the first place to start is here. Your trainer, coach, teacher, partner, or any other person can NOT want it more than YOU do. Yes, it is so important to find and create the support that you need, to raise you up and help you get there faster, smarter and cheer you on. But even with the best team of cheerleaders, if it doesn't begin with YOU, the chances of you NOT achieving your goal is much greater.

If you really have a BIG juicy goal for yourself, I have found the best way to MAXIMIZE your chances of achieving it are to ask yourself, and even better to journal about it. There absolutely is power in writing! Some questions to get you started:
WHY do I want to achieve this goal?HOW will I know that I have reached it? What will that look like, feel like, what will the result be?WHO can I help by achieving this goal? Often our biggest goals are not just for us, but for our families and loved ones too. For example, increasing your income can not only help YOU but also your family, your favorite charity, you can hire someone that really needs the work. Or getting more fit and healthy will then give you more energy to play with your kids, to have more fun and energy with your spouse;)WHAT am I willing to do to reach this goal? What actions do I need to take?HOW MUCH DO I WANT THIS? Some goals will be sooooo important to you that you will be willing to do whatever it takes, while some others may fall under the "well, that would be nice if..." category. The great news is, that's just fine! It is important to have MASSIVE goals as well as some smaller goals that would be cool if you reached, but ok if you didn't.

So, HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT IT? Please let me know! I love getting your feedback and questions.

Car Transport Quotes: Some Facts to Remember Before the Deal

When relocating to a different place, apart from the baggage, most of the people consider finding car transport quotes for the movement of their cars, quite daunting. Before moving ahead into a deal with any of the car carriers or the shipping corporations, it's important to be well aware of the quotes which are prevalent in the market for the car type to be transported so that an excessive payment is not made. There exist two kinds of car transport quotes; binding and non-binding. The details of both can be easily availed over the Internet and it is advised that 3 quotes of each kind should be sought for.

Comparing both the kinds; a non-binding quote costs higher than a binding quote since a final quote following a non-binding quote is much higher than the estimated cost. The final amount would include the actual distance, hourly rate along with cargo's actual weight. It should be inquired from the firm whether the car transport quotes include the cost of fuel incurred during the movement. The price of fuel also varies between different states and there is a steep difference in case the movement is taking place between countries. There would be many other additional costs which would be included in the final transport quote.

It is always advised to avail the services of a reputed shipping firm since there are numerous firms which do not offer even the standard services expected from a shipping company. Apart from that, the safety of the vehicle can be ensured only after using the services of a reputed shipping firm. Car transport quotes hugely vary across the industry and are based on the features which are offered by each of the transportation firms. Along with the other offerings it's also essential to inquire whether the final quote by the firm includes Insurance which in most of the cases is offered by firms of high repute.

Car transportation quotes for the movement of the vehicle also form an inherent part of the budgeting while a movement between two locations takes place. One more option which is provided to the customer is making use of an Open or a closed carrier service for the movement of the car. As the name suggests, closed carrier services are much safer since there are less chances of damage being caused to the vehicle as compared to an open carrier service. Once the quotes from various sources are obtained; a detailed study of each of the quote would help in finding out the quote which suits the needs of the customer.

Apart from firms which own trucks and trailers, there are few car haulers which assist in contacting companies that offer shipping services. It should also be ensured that the respective company has been registered with transport department. Before entering into an agreement with any such firm, it is of much importance to understand the terms and conditions mentioned in the car transport quotes.

Stem Cells Enhancers: How Helpful Are They?

cells are the "master" cells of the human body. somatic cell is primarily found in human embryos, but is also found in adult tissue. Adult cell are profusely found in bone marrow. circulate and function to renew dysfunctional cells, thus fulfilling the natural process of holding optimal health.

With age, the figure and quality of that circulate in your body gradually decrease, leaving your body more susceptible to injury and other age-related health challenges. Just as antioxidants are important to protect our cells from damage, stem enhancers are equally important to support our precursor cell in maintaining proper organ and tissue functioning in the body.

Recent scientific improvements have discovered that cells derived from the bone marrow, travel end-to-end of the body, and act to support organs and tissue function. somatic enhancers are creations that support the natural role of adult. Stem-enhancers supports the release of mature somatic-cells from bone marrow into circulation.

Ideally, cell enhancers support the release of adult precursor cell from bone marrow into circulation. They also support stem functions in the body. The number and quality of that circulate in your body gradually decrease, leaving our body more susceptible to injury and other age-related health challenges. A new theory proposes that stem cells are naturally released by the bone marrow and travel via the bloodstream toward tissues to promote the body's natural process of renewal.

The organ also releases compounds that attract somatic cell to this organ. The discharged stem cells then travel to the concentration position of these compounds and leave the blood circulation to migrate to the organ where they multiply and differentiate into cells of this organ, perpetuating the natural process of renewal. If for some reason the stem cells released from the bone marrow do not reach a tissue, they simply home back to the bone marrow after some time. So there are no side effects.

With only a single dose of this modern day amazement your body can begin the renewal process. In fact, within just one hour after taking this wonder supplement, three to 4 million, stem cells are added to your bloodstream and go to work. The discovery is a revolutionary breakthrough, all natural products that supports adult stem cell physiology.

The ingredients simply aid the release of from the bone marrow into the bloodstream. Through a natural process, those then travel to areas of the body where they are most needed. But there are certain products, known as the stem cell enhancers which increase the generation of cells manifold to provide a healthier life. This way, one can heal oneself through himself.

Cryobanks International is a leader in the collection, processing and banking of umbilical cord blood stem cells. Cryobanks provide a Private Cord Blood Storage Program for expecting families that wish to privately store their baby's precious stemcells a Public Cord Blood Donation Program for those who prefer to donate.

How To Organize A Fitness Boot Camp

For some people, the discipline that is required to keep a healthy weight and to maintain a healthy lifestyle is not something that they know to develop on their own. And for a number of people, this lack of discipline when it comes to food and fitness can have terrible consequences on their health and longevity.

Working out solo works well enough for a lot of people, but for many others, going at it alone is not that easy; which is why a fitness boot camp is one of the best ways to slim down.

For most people obesity may just seem like a problem in attractiveness but being of an unhealthy weight is more than just not looking good. There are real health issues that come with being obese. Many find it difficult to abandon their terrible eating habits when they have to do it alone, so one of the best ways to get motivated is to be around others who want to accomplish the same thing. Organizing a Fitness Boot Camp is a great way to help those who have weight and diet issues. Fitness Boot Camps are really popular and it is best to capitalize on this popularity by organizing one right now.

In order to organize a boot camp it is imperative that one has a plan. Do all the necessary research that needs to be done to get the project started. Get in contact with the right people: experts in their field and professional men and women who will be able to give good advice and who will warn about possible dangers as well as possible things to avoid. Whether its getting clients or proper management, it is important to have background and to only wing it when absolutely necessary. Accommodate just the right number of clients in order to achieve the best results. To narrow it down, base the experience on a theme like "getting a beach-ready body" or "back into the dating game."

Prepare a location that can accommodate a number of people and decide whether the regimen will require clients to stay "in-house" or if they only have to come in for the required number of sessions. Organize the staff to take care of specific aspects of the project like the workouts and the diet planning. Someone has to be directly responsible for specific aspects of the boot camp; when the staff is organized and knows what to do, keeping the boot camp running is easy. Also, remember to have a medical practitioner on call just in case. The regimen may be tailored to the strictest of safety standards but it still wouldn't hurt to be fully prepared for anything.

Take full advantage of the fact that group activities result in almost automatic support systems. When a bunch of people are thrown together for a shared experience, bonds are formed and these bonds will see them through their daily activities. Encourage the clients to bring along a friend or a sibling to ensure that they are motivated and that they commit to the program.

Tips For Finding A Great Driving Instructor

Learning to drive is a popular ambition for many people, and for a whole host of different reasons. Some want to learn to drive so that they can improve their employment prospects, while others look forward to the freedom of being able to travel where they want to do without the hassle an delays involved in using public transport. Whatever your reason for taking on this challenge, you will no doubt want to obtain your driving licence as quickly as possible and without spending too much money, and this can be helped along by choosing the right driving instructor. In this article we will look at some factors to consider when searching for somebody who can teach you to drive.

The main worry most new learner drivers have is whether or not they will get on with their instructor. In reality this is something you will probably only find out once you are taking lessons with them. You could always find a new driving teacher if you don't like your current one for whatever reason. But in the meantime there are at least a few things you can do help find a driving tutor who is likely to suit you.

Absolutely the best way to gauge whether or not a particular driving instructor is right for you is to speak to others that are currently being taught (or have had driving lessons in the past) with them. This way you will be able to get honest opinions and from people who already know the instructor. One problem you might find with this approach however is that they might only have really good things to say (without really thinking), so it's important to ask specific questions that matter to you. For example, if it's important to you that your instructor has a good sense of humour and always turns up on time, be sure to find out by asking about this. Find out what makes people think the instructor in question is so good.

Of course, if you don't know anybody locally who is taking or has already taken driving lessons, then a good place to start is by doing an internet search. You can easily use sites such as Bing or Google to find driving schools in your area. Check out their credentials, number of years experience, customer testimonials and pass rate for an idea of the quality of tuition available. Some driving schools offer male and female driving instructors, and multilingual ones if English isn't your first language. A new trend in the UK is to offer driving lessons on private land, which can be a really big help for nervous learners who want to get used to handling a vehicle safely away from the public roads. Some offer incentives such as loyalty schemes where you can get a discount or free lessons.

By now you are probably thinking about who amongst your family or friends might already know a driving instructor they can recommend. Be sure to speak to them, as well as searching on the internet to check out the quality of services available in your local area. And don't be afraid to use a new driving instructor if you decide that one you initially choose just isn't right for you. Enjoy your driving lessons!

Safe 4 Life Driver Training is a UK-based driving school offering driving lessons in Dudley.

Bovine Colostrum and the Human Body

Colostrum is a powerful, condensed form of nutrients and antibodies produced by the mammary glands of mammals in the late stages of pregnancy - this includes humans! It is very rich in proteins, sodium chloride, and vitamin A, while being very low in fat, carbohydrates and potassium than regularly produced milk. It is creamy in texture and golden in hue.

The antibodies found in colostrum are the most significant bioactive components and provide a passive immune-boosting effect. They also stimulate the development of the newborn's gut, aiding in the proper digestion of future oral intake. Colostrum is the first-line defense against pathogens and illness that may overcome a body not-yet prepared. Research indicates that premature infants fed baby formula have a tendency to vomit frequently and remain on a feeding tube for a longer period of time than an infant fed human colostrum and breast milk.

Bovine colostrum, that is, colostrum obtained from pasture-fed cows, contains immunoglobulin specific to many human-ailing pathogens such as: Salmonella, Escherichia coli, Cryptosporidium parvum and Staphylococcus. In fact, before the arrival and usage of antibiotics, colostrum was the main source of protection against infection, even being used as the main component in Albert Sabin's oral polio vaccine. As a result of antibiotic-resistant strains of pathogens, colostrum is once against being used as a natural alternative.

Bovine colostrum is identical in molecular structure to that of human colostrum; allowing us to reap the benefits. Bovine colostrum promotes digestive health, shorter healing periods, increased levels of energy, vitality and stamina, and lowers risks of upper respiratory illnesses and intestinal damage. It has also been known to promote longevity and post-pone the effects of aging.

Those who suffer from allergies may find relief when taking colostrum as it helps the body de-sensitize itself to these allergens and help prevent future development of new ones. Alzheimer's support may also be another benefit of taking colostrum. A substance known as Phosphatidylserine is found in colostrum in high concentrations, and has been proven in various studies to help those who suffer from senile dementia and Alzheimer's by helping brain cells metabolize glucose, hydrate cell membranes and enhance the brain's ability to send and receive chemical information. This may result in strengthened memory, a boost in learning, and an increase in mental acuity.

Vegetarians and athletes may feel comfortable supplementing their diet with colostrum, as well. Colostrum is actually banned by the MLB for professional basketball players, because of the natural increase in growth hormones being so great that it is actually indistinguishable from synthetic growth hormones! Not only has bovine colostrum shown itself capable of helping athletes retain energy and lessen signs of fatigue, it has also been incorporated in the vegan diet of India's spiritual leaders, the Rishis, for thousands of years!

To ensure proper absorption, it is always best to take colostrum tablet on an empty stomach, followed by plenty of water. This will ensure proper delivery to the small intestine without acidic damage from the stomach and saliva. Colostrum is also available in its natural liquid form and may be obtained from local dairy farmers. In this raw form, however, it must be refrigerated and consumed within a short period of time. It should be noted that raw colostrum is harvested from a single cow, whereas colostrum in tablet form includes the developed, wide-range of antibodies provided by numerous cows, offering a much broader spectrum of immune factors.

Over all, colostrum offers a multitude of benefits to those wishing to better their lives simply, and naturally. From allergies to Alzheimer's, athletic performance to strengthening your immune system, colostrum has shown itself to be a powerful supplement with powerful benefits, catering to all walks of life.

Fitness From The Top Down

If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more then you are a leader. John Quincy Adams

We generally think of fitness as a solitary activity. That is, it is us against ourselves, daily doing what we must to either get in better shape or to keep from slipping back into old unhealthy patterns. In other words, when it comes to diet, supplements and exercise, we are on our own.

How can this be? Everything else we do seems to involve everyone around us. We do not take our coffee breaks alone. We do not eat dinner alone. We do not go to the Golden Arches alone (if indeed we are still doing that.) We do not go to church alone. All of these are social activities, or at least most of us live as if they were.

For some reason, fitness is different. Very seldom do we go to the club with a friend or family member. Almost never do we take them with us when we go to vitamin shop. Only if we are fortunate do we share what they enjoy eating. All too often, we eat special diets, making us and everyone else uncomfortable.

This occurs because fitness is still a brand new way of being for most. Our families are still living on the "three square meals from the four food groups plan." That may be a step above the Wonder Bread and American cheese of Ozzie and Harriet, but not by much. Supplements are still viewed with suspicion, largely because MDs do not support them. Too, exercise is an organized play activity for high school kids, not a discipline for serious adults. That is where we continue to be at, even after eighty years of Jack Lalanne and fifty-plus of Jane Fonda, saying nothing about a universally acknowledged trend toward obesity.

What we take for normal (grocery store food, no vitamins, sedentary living) is dragging us down-- making us unenthusiastic, robbing us of our vitality. It is causing us to get increasingly unfit by the week. We think that we are only getting older but, the truth is that we are getting more and more out of shape because of our normal American way of life. In other words, our health-culprits are grocery store food, mandatory everyday inactivity, and vitamin-phobia, or in some cases vitamin-apathy. It is these, not the number of candles on the sugar-laden unhealthy birthday cake, which are making us look and feel the way we do. Together they are impacting diabetes, heart disease and strokes.

If something is not done about all of this, health care costs will continue to sky rocket.New fitness lifestyles must start and continue right at home. That is where the solitary health nut keeps trying to get or stay in shape while hanging onto his or her dignity. Everyone, not just this one individual, needs to get into the act. For that to happen, both parents need to get tough on junk food, microwave dinners, junk food, sitting too much in front of the computer, and being too tired to do a daily workout.

The First Lady started a number of initiatives to combat our fitness problem. They are well known, and they are likely to continue to another term, even if with a different leader. Why? Our problem gets more serious by the week, suggesting that it will not go away for a considerable period of time. It may actually exist longer than the economic down turn. To maximize the First Lady's effectiveness, her actions have to be done in concert with what should have been going on for the last twenty years at home.

Young people will not respond to anything positive unless they are given a good example from their parents. Granted, if harmful foods are no longer available in school cafeterias, they will not be as easy to get. But, they can still be bought from elsewhere. That is what will happen unless parents are leading by way, setting a good example at home. But, this is unlikely in families where there is only one family member trying to live a fitness lifestyle, all the while surrounded by Standard Americans angrily defending their pop-tarts, red meat, and Mountain Dew.

The same type of thinking is true for exercise. If parents are continually complaining about how hard they work, implying that they do not have the energy for workouts, their children will follow suit. Having to put up with teachers, home work that seems irrelevant to the everyday world, keeping up grades, and the like, can be just stressful as putting up with bosses. It is only natural then to follow then in their parents' footsteps with an attitude of perpetual exhaustion. This makes regular workouts even for the young appear to be a complete absurdity.

Supplements are next. MDs say these are a waste of money. In hard economic times that is a welcome message. However, is it true? There are few MDs who work out, but fewer still who use supplements. Maybe if more of them would get to the health club every day before going on rounds at the hospital, they might see a need for the enhanced nutrition, which comes from supplementation. If they did, they might find a better quality of life--something which they could enthusiastically communicate to their patients, namely the mothers and fathers mentioned above. Doing so could indirectly ward off disease, radically changing the health of our country.

MDs and parents should always be respected by their subordinates. But for that to happen, these leaders must be all about habits that really do make an enviable difference. That will never be the case if they hold fast to the lifestyles of the past decades, refusing to get with the new age of diet, supplements and daily workouts. That is the very thing we all need. It is the only sure way of combating our skyrocketing health care costs, to say nothing of our country's less than mediocre healthiness.

If it is any help, Thomas Jefferson- a friend and cohort of John Quincy Adams- believed that two hours of working out per day, rain or shine, was what everyone needed. Ben Franklin, even though portrayed with a paunch during his later diplomatic years, believed in diet and exercise. If we have already forgotten the late peerless Jack Lalanne, or fitness innovator Jane Fonda, let us try to remember some of our Revolutionary War heroes. That can be the best motivation for us if we are the lone health nut who aspires to motivate the rest of our family.

Can the Phil Parker Lightning Process Help People With Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)?

There is much debate as to the cause of CFS. There is also debate about what it should be called. People with this condition cite many different causes including: a virus, an infection, an operation, a vaccination or emotional trauma.

An incident in Bergen, Norway gives an interesting perspective on understanding health and disease. In 2004 in Bergen, there was a high incidence of people being diagnosed with Post viral fatigue or later CFS, which was linked to a waterborne outbreak of giardiasis. I saw over 40 clients from Bergen who did the Lightning Process. Many asked the same question: "Both my partner/wife/husband etc and I drank the same water, I ended up with fatigue, they didn't. How come?"

This is an intriguing question. It is useful to consider the work of Louis Pasteur, and how it has shaped the way we think about health. Pasteur's work contributed to the germ theory of disease. The germ theory proposes that microorganisms are the cause of many diseases. There is now much evidence to support this theory. However, it is not the whole story.

One of Pasteur's contemporaries, Claude Bernard, argued that the state of the terrain (the soil in which disease develops) is more important in the development of disease than just the germ. Claude Bernard got the terrain theory from Antoine Bechamp, who called it the cellular theory. There was much disagreement between Bernard and Pasteur on this issue, but on his deathbed, Pasteur recanted the germ theory, saying, "Bernard was correct. I was wrong. The microbe (germ) is nothing. The terrain (milieu) is everything."

Susan Dorey, who has written about Pasteur's retraction, explains "The germ theory states that the body is sterile and disease is caused by external germs (microbes). For Bechamp microbes naturally exist in the body and it is the disease that permits the microbe to express itself. The terrain, the internal environment, in response to various forces, fosters the development of germs from within."

The point that Bernard was making is that we are exposed to germs all the time, but the state of the recipient is the important factor. For instance, Doctors treat sick people day in, day out and are exposed to germs. However, they don't get sick all the time. What is the explanation for this?

So back to the question posed by clients: "Both my partner/wife/husband etc and I drank the same water, I ended up with fatigue, they didn't. How come?" Deepak Chopra illustrates the debate in the following way. He asks us to imagine two people taking a roller coaster ride. One of them loves roller coaster rides: so their body produces chemicals, including endorphins, which boosts the immune system. The other person hates roller coaster rides: so their body activates the fight or flight, or the Physical Emergency Response (PER) as it is called in the Lightning Process. This switches on the Sympathetic Nervous System, and produces powerful hormones, including adrenaline, noradrenaline, dopamine, cortisol and DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone). This results in a suppression of the immune system. So if you then gave both these people some of Bergen's polluted water, what is the more probable outcome? Is it reasonable to expect that the person who has endorphins boosting their immune system is more likely to fight off the giardiasis, whereas the other person has a higher probability of becoming unwell as a result?

One client who posed this question realised that she was more prone to emotional stress, whereas her boyfriend was much more easy-going, and she believed that this explained why she became unwell, whereas he didn't.

However, before anyone starts thinking that this offers an explanation for everyone, this is not the case. It is not being suggested that everyone with this condition has it because they are more prone to emotional stress. Another client believed that she was probably more susceptible to becoming ill after drinking the polluted water, because she had broken her leg, and she wasn't as fit as normal. When she was fit, she rarely got ill in the past, but thought her immune system might not have been as robust during this period. Other clients recognised that stress at work, an operation, an inoculation, or other factors may have meant they were more susceptible to the organism resulting in giardiasis. The link between stress and immune function is well established.

It is not always immediately obvious what factors may have contributed to some people becoming ill after drinking the polluted water. However, more important than the question 'What is the cause', is 'What can I do to regain my health?' The Phil Parker Lightning Process proposes that there is way to influence our health and our lives.

So how can the Lightning Process help?

The Lightning Process looks at a number of factors that keep influence our health. One key element of the approach of the Lightning Process is the Physical Emergency Response (PER), also known as the fight or flight mechanism.

Whenever the body senses a threat, for example having a fall, getting food poisoning, getting emotional upset, the body produces the PER to find a way to recover or stay safe. It does this by switching on the Sympathetic Nervous System and producing the chemicals as described earlier.

This is a useful response that helps us deal with the threat, and it affects our muscles and nervous system. This becomes problematic if we keep switching this system on, because this it affects our immune system (which is the healing system for the body) and affects the way our nerve cells work.

The Lightning Process three-day seminar takes approximately 12 hours to deliver and is designed to teach you:

1. About the PER and what happens if it is constantly switched on.
2. How to Spot when the PER is occurring.
3. How to Calm the PER by using a set of steps incorporating movement, posture, and coaching.
4. How to make this change to your physiology automatic/second nature, by practicing these steps. The principle is that this allows the immune system to function properly, leading to health and wellbeing.

What evidence supports this approach?

Dr. Bruun Wyller, who is considered to be one of Norway's leading experts on ME, has published some interesting research, which concur with the clinical findings of the Phil Parker Lightning Process. Dr. Bruun Wyller's findings indicate a state of permanent distress response, or sustained arousal, in CFS patients, and he believes that these findings support the approach of the Lightning Process.

Are These Symptoms of Low Blood Sugar Controlling You?

Does this diet plan sound familiar?

A person with hypoglycemia becomes tied to a daily bad habit that never helps alleviate blood sugar problems. You probably wake up with a cup of coffee and a piece of toast. Then you feel a little woozy as though your system hasn't buffered up yet. You grab a soda or tea and feel a little better. At lunch you have another soda and perhaps a sandwich or pizza. You feel like dozing off an hour or two after lunch time, and you crave another cup of a caffeine-laden drink to kick-start you again. Afternoon snacks might include crisps or other refined flour, sugar-laden nibbles. Finally, your evening meal is composed of potatoes, chicken, and ice cream.

Today's lifestyle

Many of today's menus are composed of high carbohydrate foods and caffeinated beverages. Our body becomes accustomed to poor food choices and the resultant reaction when we forget our coffee or sweet chocolate bars. The next thing we know is that we have to make a daily habit of drinking coffee and eating ice cream or French fries. We think this is the way we should live our lives. We don't feel great when we go for nuts or fruits. It's the altered body chemistry that causes these problems.

You see, our bodies are the same bodies that our ancestors had. Before there was spaghetti, burger and hotdogs, there were only berries and nuts, all natural food sources. Now, our diets have dramatically changed, but our bodies have not. This is why we see obesity, diabetes, and heart disease-disorders that were not present during the time of our ancestors.

What sugar does to us.

With the popularity of high carbohydrate foods in the market, we have overworked our bodies. Our systems have to repeatedly respond to sudden spikes of blood sugar by releasing insulin. Then our sugar falls and we feel the awful symptoms of low blood sugar levels. We feel as though we are compelled to have another cup of coffee or chocolate drink or eat something sweet. We feel the temporary relief, only to realize a few hours later that we need another boost. Of course, you probably didn't know this until reading it here. But it's these bad choices that control your daily life. You have become dependent on stuff and rubbish that causes abnormal changes in your blood sugar. And the low blood sugar changes make you grab more of the "stuff" that keeps your sugar levels rising and falling. It is a vicious cycle!

The good news is that you can break the cycle and reclaim your normal life!

If you would like to find out more then make sure you visit our site and download our FREE guide 'Six Things You Won't Know About Hypoglycemia'.

Noel Glass has been helping people with hypoglycemia and low blood sugar and having suffered with hypoglycemia himself, he understands what you are going through.

Information on Diesel Parts

Here is a list of some spare parts that you may need.

* Many problems with the diesel engine are to do with the cooling system. Some have a coolant filter to control the acidity level of the coolant and reduce the likelihood of corrosive particles building up inside the engine block.

* Coolant hoses should be checked frequently to ensure they have not worked loose or degraded. Having some additional coolant hoses in your spare parts box is a good idea.

* Gaskets should be carefully monitored due to the fact that they work under extreme operation conditions. If one gasket starts to leak the whole lot should be replaced as they are also likely to start leaking sooner rather than later.

* Mounting bolts should be re-torqued regularly as the vibration of the engine can cause them to come loose.

* The engine filter element is likely to become dirty quite often and needs to be replaced. Diesel engines use a lot of air in running, but the filter is not highly visible. To ensure that the problem does not go unnoticed many people use an air filter indicator on the side of the housing of the air filter. By changing colour, this item will tell them when the filter is becoming dirty before any problems develop.

* Some diesel engine owners use after coolers if their engines are turbo charged.

* The right oil filter is also necessary for diesel engines. Since sulphur and carbon are created from the diesel being burned - or actually from it not being totally burned, an oil filter is necessary so that corrosive particles do not enter the engine fuel. You have to be sure to get the right one for your vehicle.

* An early warning device can be installed in the dash that will warn the driver if the engine is overheating. This is particularly important for diesel engines as permanent damage can result from overheating.

* Some diesel engines use two different types of fuel filters to ensure there is no build-up of moisture in the engine. Some fuel tanks have breather vents that allow condensation to escape. They should be checked to ensure that they are not blocked up.

* Glow plugs are used to heat the engine and help prevent the build-up of black soot. These are especially necessary in cold weather and are essential in any spare parts box.

* In locations where the winter is very cold, an electrical heater can be installed to the cylinder block, or a heater element in the heater hose. Starting fluid can also be sprayed sparingly on the combustion chamber in severe conditions.

Dex is a current mechanic looking to open up his own garage. He specialises in the servicing of diesel engines, cylinder heads, crank shafts and diesel generators. He provides free tips and advice on products he has had past experience which, including reconditioned engines, cylinder head reconditioning and perkins diesel parts.
